Location: Staying at the Chaplaincy near university. :3
Currently: Listening to a piece of angsty Torchwood music.
My question is: how do you get into the mood to write? What do you do to maintain that writing state and keep off the dreaded writers' block?
I prefer to use music myself. My favourite songs from Youtube or CDs.
Curious Kitfox is curious. :3

I find there are times when I have the inspiration to write something, or at the least an idea wanders past and I try to jot it down before the idea goes away. That's a good time to sit down and write, or at the least jot down an extensive plot, working through the characters etc. You can always go pad it out later, or slide it into the story at the appropriate place.
Music wise, I prefer traditional Irish. Those smooth, soothing songs full of, well, fantasy! It's just relaxing, but fills in the audio input blanks.
Sometimes something more action oriented like and action film sound track music if it's related to the thing I'm writing.
