its like a paradox. hating him because the people that hate him, made you hate them, and in a sense, him as well because he reminds you of the source of your hatred.

Me, too; I've never actually even heard his songs. I don't know what he looks like (tho' I just picture some young white kid like Clay Aiken or Justin Timberlake from way back when whenever anyone mentions him, you know?).

I think the thing is, we're now old enough that we're not part of the kiddies who spend their whole time trying to act cool and stuff, so he's, like, completely outside our realms, you know? I remember when I was a h.s. kiddo, everyone was all down on New Kids on the Block. In college, the Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync. When I managed a music store, it was all sorts of idjits come and go like flashes in the pan. Most of 'em are, like Mr. Bieber, completely outside my realm of consciousness except for when some kid starts squawkin' out on their fvorite media scapegoat flavor of the month, you dig?

I think we "get" to see lots of that now because the internet is apparently a haven for angry tweens to spew their hatred-bile all the time. It seriously makes me not want to read anything with comments sometimes (like YouTube stuff).

This is very true. I don't know the slightest thing about the guy but I certainly hear a lot about how much people hate him. Does he really pop up in media that heavily? 'Cuz it certainly doesn't seem that way. I never heard of him at least until all this hate flinging started.

I'm kinda glad that all I hear is hate stuff about him. It's better than hearing people talk about how good he is right? Although I do see you point, it'd be a hell of a lot nicer to not hear about him at all.
