Sona name change?

Hey guys, I've been wondering about this for quite a while. Since my Fursona is named after me and will be a main character in one of my stories (i know it sounds a tad egotistical hence why I'm considering changing his name) I've been thinking of giving him another name. how ever some think i should keep the name, what do you guys think? Should i change his name, just change it for the story, or just leave it alone?
