Computer stupidities

As I was in the middle of sketching out some random doodles, my video card fan decided to die. At first I thought someone fired up a little moped outside, turns out it was my video card. So I took the thing out, fiddled with the fan, cleaned it up... no luck. Popped in an old video card to get me by... but that thing is so old and junky. It's max resolution is 1280x1024, which looks horrible on a widescreen monitor. All in all, I don't have my photoshop for a while. :( I tried GIMP on my laptop, but I can't figure it out, plus my laptop was not meant for arting. I hope to pick up a new video card tomorrow, just another cheap one to plug my monitors into.
Oh wait! I have paper and pencils! Perhaps this is an opportunity to use such ancient devices. :o

If you want cheap, the Nvidia GT 210 is the cheapest out there, and they don't require fans!

Well okay, maybe not SUPER cheap, I still have a couple PC games that need a little bit to work with. Plus Windows 7 Aero theme to can eat up some graphics. x3

Oh, ok, then I think the ASUS GTS 450 should do. It handles modern games decently enough on a budget.

if you're an ati guy, you may be able to pick up a radeon 4650 HD for $60 or less - they're actually very good when it comes to modern games

I actually bought an ATI HD 5450 for $70. I don't plan on returning it, but it SUCKS compared to my last card. It can't even run my GTA IV on the lowest settings. >.<

well, that's because anything from ATI with a '4' as the second number is apparently a shitpile - that's what I was told anyway. I've been happy with my card so far, it lets me play most games with the graphical settings at their highest.
