For rumor control, here are the facts
El día de muertos it's a mexian prehispanic tradition adopted by the christian tradition during the colony.
Its a celebration in wich it's belived that the souls of our beloved beings come to visit us to celebrate and live together with us for one day, we raise altars for them with food drink and cigars they enjoyed in life, and we go visit them to the graveyard.
Marks two consecutive days (1 & 2 of november) the first day "el día de los santos inocentes" (holly innocents day) its the day we celebrate and remember the souls of the innocents (children) the second day is dedicated to adults.
We celebrate dancing, eating and drinking, we make fun of death eating sugar skulls wit our names, and writing satirical poems about our own death or other's.
Its a celebration to death, we celebrate the fact that this life comes to an end, and that we had the chance to enjoy and live together.
