An album I thought would be severely overrated by the friendly guys at Pitchfork, this record not only deserves a 10.0, but is amongst one of the greatest protopunk records of all time. 28 minutes of unadulterated musical French sex as illustrated through the seductive delivery of Gainsbourg, the jarring Fripp-esque guitar, and the plodding, ominous bass lines of Herbie Flowers - what else is there to say about it?
Get this album now. Over here, it's released under some boutique label, but in France, it's still major label gold. I guess the French like their protopunk sex funk poetry rock.
