On the pro side, maybe the state will learn to spend more wisely and the state would have actually gotten a decent revenue boost. It would also be easier for those with a legitimate medicinal reason to get it. There would also (hopefully) be fewer drug-related offenses, and state prisons would have a smaller prison population as a result.
The reason I lean to the cons is because I have a close relative who kicked a 20 year long addiction to crack just 6 years ago, and it started by trying pot. I don't want to see more stories like that popping up left and right in California.
