ebay, hot topic (i'm *pretty* sure they ship to canada, the first HT in canada just opened)?? matters how alternative you're looking for.. i personally shoot for a 'chic goth' look, which sounds absolutely retarded, but i love darker fashion without looking like i've walked out of hot topic. >__>

black and lace are really in style this fall for whatever reason, i went to the mall and EVERYWHERE has gothy type items... you can try things you wouldn't usually, like forever21 and delias, too!
