South Park is running a 3-parter involving the boys as superheroes and took the opportunity to be deliciously evil.
Part of the story has BP drilling in the wrong places and releasing Cthulhu. Cartman (aka The Coon) naturally makes friends with the big C.
The evil? (No, that's not enough for them.) They end part 2 (of 3) with Cartman riding Cthulhu and a re-written version of an obscure song playing.
The song?
Totoro.
"Cthu-lhu, Cthulhu,"
