Some furs do make extra accounts for their Sona's, or some I know just keep FB for their character. Though, I know a lot of my fur friends just have their real life account.

There seems to be a lot of fur networking going on on FB moreso than the furry versions of social networking sites like SoFurry and all that.

I have two, one for real name, one for fur name. I have a couple reasons for it tho, my family got sick of me posting all my furry photos, and getting status updates when people tag me a bunch from photos from events, etc, so to shut them up I got a furry one. Also, if I don't want to give someone my name, I can let them follow/find me by my furry name. I still only allow folks I know in some context/form, even if it's online only. I don't just add anyone who sends me a request :B

Thanks for the comment! I feel kind of weird when I'm tagged with my real name in fursuiting pictures and though I say I'm into furry on my real account, I'd rather not, you know. Show it in pictures. So how do you manage status updates and games and stuff? Is it all on one account, or...?

I don't really play games, or post status updates too often, if I do they correspond to the accounts. Talking about normal stuff on the non-furry one, saying stuff about like meet ups or furry stuff on the other one.

Really? Why not? Even though I sort of loathe FB, it's nice to keep an open channel to people you know or used to know.

Cause I just don't like that kind of information being out there for anyone to see. Yeah, I can block it, but then what's the point of the site at all? I have like 3849384765 ways to keep in touch with people I know already.

That is sound advice, Dobies! It's kind of scary how many stories you hear about with people not getting jobs or getting in trouble because of stuff on FB. It's personal life, but that doesn't mean people shouldn't be careful anyway! I have some fursuit pics on FB tagged with my real name (by others) and sometimes I get all D: about it that potential employers would flip.

I have a profile for one of my webcomic characters, but that's for the fans.

I'd never make a separate one for FB and I only friend people I like or want to get to know. My FB profile is locked from being found by anyone I don't want to find it, so I have no issues with anything. Even then, those that are friended might not have access to everything on my profile

I'm thinking of also locking my real life FB account so that more of my information is private. But I'm not like other people and put my real life phone number in there, dsfjdhslkj, so idk what exactly I'd be hiding, but!

I have levels of trust.

Acquaintances can't even see my wall or photos or videos or friends. People that aren't my friends can't search for me on Facebook. I maintain a level of privacy and because I have a level of professionalism, I don't keep furry stuff there.

This reminded me to change my privacy settings to friends only for practically everything. Ugh, I hate the convoluted nature of FB privacy settings. >:c

My FB has so many layers of protection.

I'm already managing two, one for me and one for the penguin, but that's for game purposes. And if I did make a fursona one, it would be for games as well most likely. I probably will because that's all I use FB for anyways. 8[

But yeah, thankfully I don't think I have pictures of me in suit other than Halloween that are tagged, and even then I don't really like being tagged period. I do use my fursona pic a lot but a good chunk of my illustration/animation friends use some form of art instead of their mug anyways so no one really questions. Plus I'm not that social in the furry community so I don't really worry about furry stuff unless I post it. XD

I like being social with furs, so maybe it's a good way to keep in touch with people and I can post more arts and stuff on FB. The only problem is that I'm scared there'll be enough in my furry FB account that will link me to my real self and then people will be like sdjkfhlkjsd we can't hire her!

Yeah, my dad gives me shit about how FB/Twitter will prevent me from being hired all the time. But even without furry, I have classmates, teachers, close friends, hopefully potential employers, etc., on FB so I usually I only post if it is appropriate for all groups and have learned to quit the cussing and stuff, so I don't post that often anyways as a result. Which is why when I see friends posting a million scandly-clad, shit-faced pics I'm like, 'lol, less competition in the job market for me.'
