went to a thrift store on monday morning, they had a members only jacket for five bucks
now I have two
I also got this amazing blue vest with a yellow stripe down the back, it rules
I also got a hat with some earflaps for 50 cents which was great because today it started SNOWING HEAVILY and being cold and now if I can just find my long underwear I will actually have a decent winter outfit
anyway if you find yourself paying more than five bucks for items of clothing you are shopping wrong, although I guess exceptions can occasionally be made for certain things like that canvas weatherproof longcoat I bought in brighton or maybe some COOL INTERNET SHIRTS if the shirts are actually cool and not terrible and lame

but on the other hand estate sales give you incredible value because it means the person basically died with no remaining family or anyone to care about what happens to all their stuff, so it's cheap cheap cheap! and a little depressing if you think about it too much, so I'd advise against doing that
