Oh noes, an opinione! Look at anything from the Cambrian and Devonian, especially trilobites and specifically the Moroccan trilobites.
JUST LOOK AT THEM.

Trilobites were, I believe, unique in that the lenses in their eyes were MADE OUT OF ROCK. Or calcite, which is a crystalline form of chalk.
