Indeed, though I certainly wouldn't want to suggest that I'm any less inclined towards the good ol' lines. Just expanding a bit, and perhaps a little curious about others tastes as well. ^^
*nodnods* For me it depends really on what I'm wanting in the picture. Sometimes it's very important to me that the lines be pretty crisp, if I'm trying to really capture the character. Other times, I might be more interested in a scene or a feeling, in which case so long as the artist can capture a particular expression the line work doesn't have to be all that detailed.
And well generally, the more "fun" the image is supposed to be, the less I'm worried about the detail in the lines. Again it's more about capturing the feeling and less about the proper anatomy etc.
The colored work I've seen from you is downright inspired. There are several points that look so subtle and right I can't tell how intentional they were. If you want to take that a step further and do more layered/painted/lineless/form-based stuff, you certainly have the potential to get far fast. if and when you get back to lines, you'll be all the better for it. But, I mean, no pressure. >.>
I've become extremely fond of kiwi fruit recently. The birds are adorable as well. When you think of them as gooseberries it kinda ruins it though, ya know?
