The furry fandom is a pretty diverse place. There are folks up here from all over the world, and though it would be time consuming for me to put up a survey (mostly because I don't know how), I'm sure there is, at the very least, a very large portion of the fandom consisting of Baby Furs. The thing is, with pretty much all the rest of the world shaking their fists at us, some of us will ask: Why do so many here feel the need to denigrate the Baby Furs?
I think part of the problem is they don't understand what drives us… At all. And I know for a fact that many perceive AB/DL as simply a sugar coating for pedos, like wolves in sheep's clothing. It doesn't help that we are adults, and the Baby Fur artists often do adult things with their decidedly child like characters. Personally, I don't support that, because it does nothing to improve our standing with the rest of our community.
It DEFINITELY does nothing to improve the standing of furs in general to the rest of the world!
And THAT may have more to do with the negative feelings than anything else, especially among the dominance crowd. But lets face it: The internet is pretty much just made for porn, right?
A few hours ago, I spent an inordinate period of time sparring with some douche who obviously didn't like the idea of someone creating artwork featuring young characters. I've also seen quite a few snubs to furs just looking to make some friends, because they are of the AB/DL persuasion.
I've got news for you, folks: Being normal is definitely NOT one of the fandom's attributes.
While I'm sure there are a few definite outliers in the group, I can say that Baby Furs are one of the more friendly of the fandom's peoples. But man, do we ever have a target painted on our (diapered) backsides! There are regions of the BF fandom that I do NOT enjoy, just as there are restaurants I don't enjoy. If you don't like playing at being a kid, fine. Stay outside the playpen.
I side strongly on the innocent and caring side. There are some furs who definitely do NOT.
For the most part, I have been lucky. The group has been good to me, and I have had but one Troll that I am aware of, who was fairly quickly snuffed by one of my watchers (Its good to know you have my back!) and the Admin.
If any of the cub haters is reading this, just remember how it feels when someone yanks YOUR tail. We are all part of the same group, we just have different desires. I don't expect you to completely understand mine, just as I have trouble understanding some of yours. I'm not particularly fond of being beaten, as my story pretty well illustrates; and maybe you're not particularly fond of sitting in a wet diaper. So be it. Just don't judge, especially if you don't know whats really going on. We LIKE the innocence of being Baby Furs. How does taking that away make you any better?

At first I was I bit scared of showing myself like this, afraid of being trolled and losing normal furiends who would think it's yuck.
Instead of that I got a whole lot of new friends and just a tiny portion (which I didn't even like so much) left.
There is less negative thinking 'bout babyfurs a lot, however from non-BF I mostly get the question what drives me to be a lil pup. An honoust answer is my reply, because I am who I am.
And like you said. Some see us like crazy people doing weird stuff, but hey! Wake up, there are people doing a lot more weird stuff, whom I would never make fun off. So why would we be judged by an interest of us which makes us, us.
So why bother kissing their asses?
This fandom needs to at least be tolerant to a degree with one another. I mean we're all quite weird to some degree but we have that same interest in anthropomorphic animals. We can't help what we become interested in some of the time. Some of these interests become embedded in us during the early halves of our youths or just genetics.
- Haters are, mostly, ignorant people who rage too much and are really, really stupid.
- Trolls are smart.... They are evil thought. They have knowledge, they have persuasion, and all. They are also very good actors. They are the proof that intelligence and kindness/Stupidity and being a moron are not the same thing. They know who babyfurs are, even some trolls are babyfurs ( nobody chose his fetishes ) But, basically, for them, everybody is equal, as everybody is a target. They are not evil for profit, they are evil for fun, so remember that: never rage against a troll. They can't get angry, but they like when you are upset. So, trolls favorite targets are haters, or people who have a "weak" point, when they see furries, it's simple for them to attack furries on that point.
About haters... well, haters can learn, sometimes. The problem being that everything is compared with sexual stuff... So if you are an ABDL, they will think you're a pedo, if you're a furry, they will think you are a zoophile... If you are a babyfur, they'll think you are both. Be warned though, trolls do like playing with that, saying you are a pedo to make you rage, while they know you aren't. There's a lot of stuff to say on that subject.
Anyway, I agree with this. And I myself really do not like cub porn....it's kinda freaky to me.
And, with the other babyfurs around me (Online only, I know none in real life) I actually feel like I belong somewhere, that not everybody hates me because that's how ever troll I come across makes me feel. And because of the way they go about attacking me, I can do nothing to stop them. But I am ALWAYS open to help others, no matter what I am going through.

In that case i agree that the fetish needs to at least be self contained. You can be padded in
public, thats fine. Even pissing isn't bad cus it's quite easy to hide and no-one ever smells
it. But once you step over the line and into EVERYONES, including none-furs, personal space.

That being said, alot of peoples ideas of BF's ARE misjudged. Saying we all paw to cubs and we
all love children in the worst of manners. Where many of us are in it just for the innocence and
happyness of being cared for that it brings. This includes stuff where sex doesn't happen ever
or at all.

several of my watchers WERE my trolls at first, so people do eventually come around.
Part of what I hope to do is make the Baby Fur community a little less misunderstood by its peers. There is quite a bit of self indulgence displayed up here, and a significant portion of it is in really bad taste. Not exactly an icebreaker…
No matter what the message, an artist is responsible for their work. Ultimately, THEY must be able to explain to the viewer WHY they have created it. Does the answer sit well? I dislike censorship, but producing a piece of work depicting a 2 year old child being sexually violated has some rather significant ramifications. None of them good.
There are cans of worms being opened Right and Left. What do you think 20/20 would make of this genre? Pretend child porn? How long before someone notices just how fucked up some of this is? You can tell people not to look all you want, but eventually, some amount of "concern" will result.
The current storyline is not simply a statement; it is a history. If someone wants to see one of the most common ways a DL or Baby Fur is created, they need only look to Ober's story. The events depicted are taken directly from my childhood, and for the most part, they are verbatim. I therefore have a reason, and a right to show them to whom I choose, and I can answer for each and every one of them. The images would be upsetting to many, and that was their intent, but none of them are overtly sexual, or excessively graphic.
I guess my hope is that someone who cannot understand why Baby Furs are the way they are might be offered a little more understanding by reading it. Is that a ridiculous goal? Maybe… But at least I can say that I've tried to share.
While I'm not a full blown Baby Fur (you'll not see me baby talking, for instance), I'm enough of one to elicit the ire of several "normal" Furs, for no other reason than I'm into something that they are not. WTF?
