Since everyone else is talking about it, figured I'd hop onto the bandwagon and say my feelings on it.
Cub porn, I'm not really into. It's a fetish (what isn't these days?), so there's plenty of you who like that sort of thing. And all power to you for that. To each their own, so long as you don't try to force it down my throat. However, there is one part of this update that...kinda makes me scratch my head a bit.
If I'm reading it right, it says that regular cub art is fine, so long as it isn't adult in nature. There's the key word. Adult. Now, obviously, a picture of two cubs 'yiffing' would be downright adult. But, what about nudity? Perhaps. A cub in sexy clothing (if such a thing is possible)? While not showing nudity, that might be considered adult simply for the subject matter.
I hope you can all see where I'm going with this. Just what defines a picture as 'adult'? Would my hypnosis and mind control fall under that category? At first glance, the answer would be no. But, if I imply that, say, Croc hypnotizes Blaze and has sex with her, would THAT be adult simply for the implication of sexual intercourse?
All I can hope is that the FA leaders use wise and careful judgment when deciding what is considered adult, and what is just foreplay.

Well, actually, it doesn't matter WHERE FA is based. People can scream "freedom of speech!" all they want; it's utterly ineffective and meaningless. For, you see, FA is a private site. 100% privately owned and operated. The rules they set down are not, by any means, going for or against the US constitution, or any other constitution for that matter.
Now, as for cub porn, it is a silly notion to say "where will they stop?!" See, the thing is, you can't get rid of furries on a site named FUR Affinity, for one very important reason: EVERY SINGLE LAST MEMBER IS A FURRY. XD Cub porn fetishists, on the other hand, are a very very distinct minority. I think they only constitute maybe 5% of FA's total art/member basis. Probably less, actually. It comes down to what people agree most on; it's consensus. Lots of people, myself included, see cub porn as just a fancied-up version of child pornography. You can't make the same argument for furries being similar to bestiality, because the main arguments of bestiality being 'morally wrong' is that the animal in question cannot make that choice whether or not it is willing. Well, furries are sapient and therefore capable of making decisions...after all, that's why most of them wear clothes, communicate in linguistics, have beliefs, preferences, and vivid emotional output. However, there is no argument that children of any kind can be consenting because in general, the brain has not developed consensual decision-making processes until some time after the onset of puberty.
As for the people who do not have an age listed and they draw their character as somewhat less-obviously aged, well, perhaps they'd better start listing ages, and make sure it's within reason, too. I trust FA will use good judgment in enforcing such a policy.
And if people don't like it, well, they can leave and go somewhere else. There's plenty of niche-pandering websites out there, they'll do JUST fine.

Talking about cub art in particular, I personally don't see how adult cub art is any different to drawing human toddlers and putting them in adult situations. The only difference is that one has fur and the other doesn't. I'd feel just as awkward looking at pictures of a little girl or boy being drawn in an erotic or sexual way as I do when I see adult cub art. As you say, each to their own, but this isn't a site for child porn. You could argue that it's also not a porn site, and you'd be right, but the difference is that drawing two adults getting at it is considerably less tongue-in-cheek.
I'm indifferent to the people who draw cub art, really. I don't look at their galleries because I know I won't like what I see. But yeah, there's my opinion for what it's worth (Which probably isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things).
It might affect the Sonic section a bit which I think is just a good thing (if we can get rid of all the Cream and Tails and other younger character porn which has always disturbed me in some way..). It might be selfish but I don't see it affecting my drawing habits since all of my fan characters are over 18 and if I tend to count every year to the official characters' ages (heck Sonic's gonna be 20 next year!).
But all toddler porn is no thanks. It's just plain wrong and sickening. I think FA did a good choice by banning such content.
I just hope they really take into consideration what to remove and what not though but after reading the forum post, it looks like they got a good guideline going on.
