This is some kinda MSN hack to take the hotlinks away? Do you even know why they did that?

What happened is they released a new version of Windows Live Messenger as part of a 2011 Live Essentials update... and it tries to combine a whole bunch of news feeds and social networking and it just looks terrible. D= They even took away the handwriting function.

Shortly after this, they disabled links from turning clickable in chat windows for ONLY the 2009 version. They said that it was because this version was unstable and susceptible to attack from a worm. It's a worm that's been around for YEARS though... it's hard to believe they're doing anything about it now.

Well I was gonna say, it's because of a worm, and I don't doubt that there're people still stupid enough out there to click the links generated by it.

So I'm not about to go hacking my MSN just for that. I can take two seconds to copy-paste a link.

Well, I've helped like 10 people successfully do it... it doesn't take very long. You're just changing one letter and you can back up the file if you feel you need to. Worse thing that can happen is you need to reinstall Messenger. It's a real benefit to me because I have a lot of social friends who want to show me things all the time... Youtube link after Youtube link, pictures, FA links, etc. It got really annoying having to copy and paste them all, especially when chat bullets got in the way.

Your choice, though. Everyone has different wants and needs.
