There needs to be a rule that an admin who just got in an argument with someone should not be allowed to infract them for unrelated things for a 'cool-off' period.

On an old account of mine, I got a 24 hr ban from Chase because of a ref sheet I made out of SL shots... the AUP states that snapshots are not allowed... but I had severely edited mine and combined them to make it a ref sheet, plus credited every single person who made something I used for my avatar... FA is FULL of these things, so I assumed they weren't considered snapshots. Well, apparently they are. I got a "SL shots are not allowed bawww" and a 24 hr ban, no notice, no chance to take it down myself... I emailed Chase and got no response.

You were banned for an older post that, truth be told, deserved the infraction it got (an infraction which apparently completed the needed points for an autoban). It had been reported but apparently no one saw it until Chase infracted you (I hadn't read through the reports today as I've been busy).

So yeah, I don't really like bans but this isn't some retarded crusade or conspiracy or whatever, just a regular run-of-the-mill autoban that was handled by a staff member instead of a forum-specific mod (yes staff members also get mod status on the forums apparently).

And by older I mean from like a couple of hours before, it's just that the thread moves very fast.

Also hey this is like the first time I actually make an effort to explain a ban, let's celebrate this.

What post was it, and why did it deserve a two point infraction instead of a one-point infraction? I don't think I did anything nearly bad enough to deserve that (with three points being a ban, and especially assuming it's that particular number because "Three strikes you're out") in that thread.

I still kind of think it's a retarded crusade, because of the reason of Chase being upset because of Snide Comments and giving me a suspension yesterday (I have a thread for an appeal to that, although apparently no one gives a fuck to answer that, even though it's as permanent mark on my account for something) and has never excersized power over the forums before. :P But that really doesn't matter it seems.

The specific post was deleted by Chase (nothing weird there, it's been done a lot of times by different mods in that thread to somewhat cut down the amount of replies and spam, not by me though since I'm too busy derailing that thread) but it had you accusing another user of fucking children or something like that. I know it was a joke but it's still a call-out and deserved an infraction, and the common punishment is 2 infraction points (this wasn't made up by Chase, specific behaviours have specific punishments, it's a list and we check the infraction we want to give).
So even if for any reason this was Chase chasing you down (which I won't assume it was), he still acted well within his powers to punish a rule infrigment that was reported as disturbing by another unrelated user and gave the appropiate response.

So yeah sorry you got banned but it was all fair and square.

I'm trying to remember if I ever did that. Because it might have been one of the "Anthros are humans." argument posts and therefore I don't think that would really apply.

If specific things have specific punishments and times those punishments last why is my Ben infraction that was a one month long but small enough to be a single infraction point still around. It should have worn off by now, then.

Smods can make special infractions for those infrigments of the rules not contemplated among the "preset" infractions but common faults like spam and insulting others have established infractions, yes.

Also I checked your infraction tab, Ben's infraction expires the fifth of December. Yeah, it was one point, which mixed with the 2 new point gives you a temp-ban until the points go away. So sit tight and wait until the fifth I guess.

I already tried to appeal the 'snapping at others' infraction or at least the ridiculous length of time that was set on it, and never got a real answer yes or no, so I guess it's no and so I guess there's really nothing else you can do.

I don't agree that the post I got an infraction for wasn't worth an infraction and tempban, but in the end it isn't my call.

Also I checked Chase's activity in the forums out of boredom and it all checks out, he's doing a really good job as a mod right now. I wouldn't be surprised if he jumped in because of the clusterfuck that the cub porn thread is.

I can't name like ANY off the top of my head past the first gen, except for the eevelutions but those are kind of a duh. Mostly because those were the only ones I knew as a kid before I stopped paying attention (Only to pick it up again now that I'm older. XD)

I'm actually playing the DS 3jlaksjdfldjfnumbers game right now. And it is the MOPIEST goddamn game I have ever seen. It's worse than Final Fantasy VII and Cloud's identity issues. Though I admit that I really do enjoy the Xigbar and Luxord characters.

You know, like normal games do. Haha.

For some reason this site, and FAF are not completely clean. Butthurt scums go all over the place and report people who don't agree with them, or whining about people who said that their art / actions / face was bad.
They're everywhere.
I already got threatened by some that they'd report my post, but they ended with just blocking me.


In any case, a note to the mods:
Don't infract people right away just because their posts were reported, first check the post and see if it's truly inappropriate.
I know you do this, but I believe you just surrender to every report. Of course, there are many reports that I don't know of and probably many of them get rejected, but I still don't believe that's enough.


If I ever saw how bad the content was I'd understand, but I believe that the staff acts like a servant to the reporters. And after the wave of newfugets from FA, and probably many of them will stay in FAF, they will report every post they see.

I got banned for not being furry in one case, elsewhere - don't let it happen here again.

Do you think we're retarded? Of course we check the reported posts before infracting. We get people abusing the report button or reporting completely inane shit, we must check everything to see if it's worth taking care of. It would actually take more effort to ignore what is being reported or simply infracting without first checking the post out, since we must read through the report (which includes the offensive post as a quote) and then, to infract, go all the way to the original post and infract from there.
It's not a matter of being lazy, we would have to actively try and make en effort not to read the "offensive" post.
We don't act like servants to the reporters, no siree.

That takes time. And with the amount of reports, it must be really tiring. How much time does that take, checking one report?

As well, the FAF regulars seem to support your involvement entirely, and that post was even a bit more tame than I would have expected.
