Well the fact that you're using a slim kills most of your options. I don't know about modding the PS3, but as far as PS2 is concerned, having a slim defeats you. The only option I can suggest is to emulate the PS2 on a PC and get a usb converter for the controller.

I've never emulated a PS2 Myself, but if it's anything like emulating a PS1, it's a tad complex, requiring you to have specific plugins to get things running. This should get you started though. http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/ps2/

I'm not entirely sure where to start. I guess I'll just list what I know? I think i have a something something fire GL video card and 2 gb of ram i have no idea on the processor atm.. I just got a new lappy and that has some basic dell video card and 4 gb of ram with a 2.4 ghz intel processor. DOES THIS HELP. PLEASE HELP ME OBI WAN.

There are ways to hack your PS3 slim. Your PS2, being the slim is prettymuch fekked for that option. There are things called "Jailbreakers" for the PS3 that can hack them and let you play region free games and burned / downloaded games. However these are highly illegal and can get you banned from sony's online networks. They also run the risk of having your console bricked should you get caught using said hacks.

Unfortuantely for an imported game that's about your only option. Now that being said, you COULD possibly still play it on your standard PS2. NTFS-J is just another version of NTFS, which is our video game standard. A lot of consoles will play NTFS-J games, but not all of them will. You might be able to get away with it, you might not. I know I can play NTFS-J on my 360 and my Dreamcast as well as a few other systems, but I've got not PS2 imports to try it on. So it'd be a hit or miss.

Taiko Drum Master came out in the US on PS2. You could buy the US version of it off Ebay or possibly used in a Gamestop.

The us version was a dumed down verison that had a rather unplesant mix of americana for songs. The original Japanese TDM was way better, as were the sequels. I've got TDM for my DS and I absolutely adore it. Do I want them to make an american version? Sure why not... Would I buy it? Probably not.

The PS3 doesn't need to be hacked to play imported games only bootlegs. If you just want to play legit imports just buy the game and stick the disc in. That's how me and my friend PJ do it though if there is DLC only available for that game in japan you'll need to goto Sony Japan's website to create a Japanese PSN account to download that content. Mind you the US Slim PS3 doesn't support PS2 games unless I missed something in a recent update.
