I am really wondering something after MFF. It is apparent to me that I'm not well liked. I have a couple of friends but most of the fandom wants nothing to do with me even if I try to be friendly and inviting. And yet people who have less social skills than I do have more friends and are more well liked. People I could have sworn everybody doesn't like know where all the parties are and I end up seeing them having con sex in videos posted later.
What am I doing wrong? Is it because I don't go to dances? Or go on SL? Is it my appearance? Am I not chatty enough? I'm stumped.

It could be a matter of perspective. Trust me, not everyone is having more fun/sex than you are. We should talk.
It made me sad for like an hour, I should've put it in my wallet rather than in my pocket! Slippery ravepants pocket and laminatey card do not mix :(
Maybe I'll do that next con we're both at. :>
The fandom is like a childrens playground.. For example the bully has the coolest clothes on and awesome i school.. The fandom example is who has the coolest fursuit from a well known builder and of course lame furry talent while really the real good talents are the underdogs that work so hard to try and get known in the fandom.. But no one cares about there stuff...
All the fandom is really a popularity contest...
" oh look I am a popufur for drawing a cock on my shitty art piece.. eveeyone loves me " Yeah fuck off >.>
I do agree that there is an elitist attitude in some of the fandom furs (that has NOTHING to do with that persons moral, artistic, or intellectual worth). I would trust the comments above, as they seem pretty spot-on, and MFF was no exception (you wouldn't believe the grilling I got on FA, twitter, and the drama sites for fursuiting on the airplane to and from MFF).
Outside of the fandom (but not hidden from the fandom -- everyone at work and in my family knows my anthro side, and vice versa) I lead a very rich and interesting intellectual life.
Would love to chat, as Orzel notes, private mail is best. Send me your contact info (spottacus at gee mail dot com), and we'll chat.
