Because sometimes, things need to change.

A friend at school told me about this today.

The UN has removed homosexuals from its list of those protected from unjust executions.
The UN has failed to protect the rights of human beings. It's violated its own charter of rights. People need to be aware of this. This cannot stand.

pleasantly suprised by israel's vote though.
sadly however, any petitioning would be completely futile and in many of the countries that voted for the change i suspect any attempt t petition would be very unwise.
though the notion tht this change means the legalisation of the murder of homosexuals in any way are simply over-reacting. Whilst yes it is a great step backwards all it means is that any nation can make homosexuality a crime. whilst yes, in 5 of those it is deemed punishable by death, in the others it is not and the killing of people for homosexuality would still be a crime, even in at least some of those other 5.
look at it this way... in America, someone kills a bunch of people, they'd be likely to be given a death sentence. does that mean you would then be able t kill that person with no consequense? no. you'd still be commiting murder yourself.
tho as i say... unfortunately, one or two are the sort of countries where that sort of thing does go on. though unfortunately, i can't see that changing no matter what official legislature says. even if this passed ,at least one nation's police forces would turn a blind eye to hate crimes commited against certain 'minority groups'. (and no, i'm not even trying to imply or hint at any nation in specific, just that it'd happen).
