Thanks Tavi. I've lost pets before, but this time hurt more than it has in a long time. I think perhaps because he was such an enegetic little guy that seeing him so motionless and quiet was just unnatural.

It does hurt. I keep expecting him to leap into my lap, purring and nuzzling the demanding way he used to... *sigh*

Well he was 14 when he died so yah he was @ that time.

It is, he was one of the sweetest friendliest animals I've ever known and to lose him so suddenly was a terrible blow. Actually, it's painful just to reply to these condolence messages, but I think in the longrun that this will help me cope better...

One my my two cats will soon be heading that way, she is I think 16 years old or close to it. She has arthritis and is steadily declining in health overall.

Bonkers was still a young kitty, but I've lost older kitties too. The pain's a bit different, but no less real... *huggles*

I lost two cats last December, one at the beginning and another at the very end of the month. *re-hug*

It's OK, I've mostly gotten over Bonkers' untimely death. He was a wonderful cat and I do still miss him, but I've learned not to dwell upon such things. I have other kitties who still need me!

As to the funerary arrangements, luckily we've been having an unseasonably warm winter up here so the ground was still soft enough to bury him.
