i do think its good to reach out with small vids like this as a hand being extended for help. being someone who has to deal with it, i would actualy like to see groups and programs that dont stop at teens or at a certain age. this is aimed at teens mostly, local programs are aimed at 18-25...what? after 26 you stop needing help if you're GLBT?
but i will say he is right (the dude in the vid) there is a world out there of love and support for everyone
there's a large campaing going on here atm about abuse. they aim it at adults getting abused. the 2 combined made me comment really. cause no matter how old you are...you can get herrassed and abused
Actually the communities I've lived in may be different from yours but there are programs and groups out there for older folks, lots of good ones too.
There's obviously been more government funding towards youth programs because youth are considered high risk groups for STDs, violence and emotional disorders, but the groups out there exist for all ages really. Often they're separated m age categories for a reason though, so that the individuals receiving help can identify more with each other.
I mean whether you're gay, straight, lesbian or cross-gender there's a world of difference between two individuals the same age, let alone two that are 25 years apart. That being said there's obvious gaps in programs. Such as in vancouevr there's a youth program for 13-25 year olds, and a mature GBLT group for 30+. So you can see the small age gap, although they aren't strict about it at all, so really you can go and get help at your local GBLT center regardless of age usually.
