All the suggestions I got were interesting, I have to say. I'd have enjoyed writing any of them! But GremZealot's notion of an injured female dragon got two votes, so it's the one that got picked. :D

I'm currently writing the second segment of the story, and if all goes well I might even finish it later tonight.

Thanks very much to everybody who commented. Don't let your idea not getting picked this time keep you from giving me more ideas! This is probably going to be a long story, and odds are everybody will get an idea picked eventually. :)

Edit: Ah frick. :P I forgot to check for additional comments that didn't give me notifications before picking the winning story idea. Figures! I'm still learning how this process is going to work, and I hope Muyr and Mavik will forgive me for screwing this round up. I should have had a "hat draw" between the two ideas, but I've already written half the next segment, and I don't really want to throw it out. :(
