On another note, Sonic fanart is often drawn in the style of the shows/games, and the style generally makes them seem more mature looking than their stated canon ages. Alot of people do not follow the canon ages. Dragoneer himself suggests making them look older...not necessarily different, just older. Change the proportions a little, say they're adults, and you're home free. After all, that style does not portray age very well, other than younger characters = rounder eyes.

You've missed the point of why they did it don't you? It's not just "we don't like it." It was more like "that's illegal/a nasty legal grey area and we don't want to touch it" and the ones willing TO allow it also helped fund websites hosting actual child pornography.

This is exactly what so many are missing/ignoring. I stated before that it's only a matter of time until "cub" starts getting broader in its definition. Of course, the Sonic characters are, to be fair, identified as teenagers and younger by Sega, but eventually things like extreme size difference (like, say, a large, buff Tiger with a Chihuahua) and macro/micro will begin to fall under that definition.

Furaffinity is in /America/, which has judicial precedent explicitly stating that drawings of the subject are legal, so long as it is clear it is only fantasy (ie not-human).

Right, but I'm sure that if AlertPay's issues were purely the semantics, it would have been dealt with by advising everyone that "cub" should now be referred to as "ageplay," which, since most cubs around here have fully developed sexual organs that seep and/or spray copious amounts of sexual fluids, isn't at all a stretch, and an additional tag underneath the Copyright line of every submission marked "Mature" that would be something along the lines of "All characters in the above submission are representative of persons aged 18 or older."

However, it all hinges on what people see. A six foot tall, two hundred thirty pound Malamute enjoying the company of a three and a half foot tall, sixty pound Pomeranian or a seven foot tall Bengal with a four foot tall Ringtail would be seen by most as cub. If you've been in the fandom for over five years and remember the drama over Zoush/Keovi and LittleBlooWolf's Sarin, I dare you to defy me. The same could be applied to any short/tall combination, or for that matter, short/short, skinny bois, and flat chested females.

Besides, what else is banned by Canadian law? Do they allow murder? No? I'll give you one guess as to what they'll view Vore as. Do they allow sex in bondage? I'm fairly certain even US law frowns on that, as it takes away the submissive's ability to choose. Does Canada allow rape? How about public nudity? Drug use? Bestiality?
