When gay people feel that they have to express that they are gay by being extremely overly flamboyant towards everyone! >.< And you all wonder why people don't like you...
Agreed! Those people should stop acting like a king telling another fur you can't/can do this and that because they are straight, gay, whatever it is. Some of those people just don't have any respect for others at all and that's sad.
I like the gays where you'd only know they're gay because they told you personally. If you can immediately tell their orientation by dress and actions, it just bugs me. :<
I'm not going to say that the types of gays we're talking about dont kind of bug me, but at the same time, not being able to tell their orientation by dress or action makes it a LOT harder for those of us who live in small towns like mine to find someone to date/snog/fuck at random (season this comment to taste). We have no specific meeting place or anything and word of mouth isn't near enough.
On the other hand, it doesnt have to be anything big and overly flamboyant, but maybe a little something to get the message across for those who are looking is okay, no?
Well, say. Random guy no.1 wears.... rainbow belt, rainbow necklace, rainbow this, rainbow EVERYTHING. And speaks like a twitchy little 15-year old preppy girl, and replaces each second word with 'like' or 'AHMAHGAWD'. That's too gay and really.... just... overboard.
Guy no.2 dresses like a normal male, speaks like a normal person his age, but happens to wear a ring, or an earring, with something gay-pride related. That's great~
I understand that it's hard to find someone 'random' without the possibility of offending someone that might possibly not be gay. But going so overboard, that even the gayest of gays doesn't want to be around them, is bad. x)
I mean, it's the same in the lesbian community - It's hard for me to find a girlfriend that's not outright 'butch' cause I'm really not attracted to those, so I kind of got to 'deal with it' and hit on the ladies I like with the possibility of them just shooting m down 'cause they're just not gay.
It's the same both ways, and both 'The Uber-fag' and 'The Mega-Butch' creep me out. It's like.... they're so gay, they might as well almost be straight.
XD They've just gone so far to the other side of the spectrum that they might as well be back at the starting point, eh? lol.
And yes I agree, there are limits to what anyone can take. I think I only have a bit of a beef with this argument because I'm constantly surrounded by folks that say these types of things and mean it to the point of, "Well, its okay to be gay, i guess, but why do you have to go and suck some guys dick? Can't you just...like...not participate?"
so my apologies if I'm heated on this topic. a lifetime of that way of thinking has made me, shall we say...bitter. *eye twitch*
Well that's just wrong - If you're gay, you're gay, and that's great, and it bothers the crap out of me when people do the 'Well I need to think it's okay because of common society, but they don't have to be part of it". It's just dumb and it's mostly homophobes who are afraid of being a homophobe xD
I agree with you fully -this kind of stuff does make you bitter after years and years of struggling with it. <3
Exactly. but to me saying that a person shouldn't outwardly seem gay is just another way of smacking them on the head with a newspaper and saying, "hey! Stop being yourself, damnit!" I'm also not saying everyone should run out and make friends with a drag queen either, lol.
One last thing and I promise I'll put a muzzle on it...to tell someone not to parade around boasting loudly about who they are on the page of someone who runs around in a fursuit....I just find some sort of irony in it.
