So I've heard about that. D: I fucking hate how governments think they know what's best for their citizens, without even taking the time to research and make sure that what they're doing is a good idea. Ignorance is not bliss, at least not in the government where it seems to thrive. :/
This is yet another product of our government to allow big corporations to lobby their interests, and buy off the representatives that are elected to represent the PEOPLE. I have a feeling that if our forefathers were alive to see America today, they would not only be ashamed, but they would most likely encourage us to fight to change this corrupt system of government. No matter what political views you have, I'm sure most of us would be opposed to this.
What astonishes me is that most of America is ignorant of the faults in the government. The government was designed over two-hundred years ago, and in that time it's been filled with corruption and ignorance. It really needs a re-write, which it'll never get. :/
That's probably why they're trying to be so hush-hush about it. :/ As of right now they're trying to pass a bill to allow the government to seize any domain they feel is illegal. As per the usually standard, the government will just come up with some bullshit excuse to do whatever the hell they want, any the judicial system is such a joke that I doubt there won't be much budging on it.
How can this be constitutional? By technologies standards this isn't a country's commodity but an entire world's. Since when does America have the right to control a global commodity?
Internet service providers that operate in the United States are under the law of the US. It's unconstitutional, sure, but no one listens to the constitution anymore anyway.
I disagree! :O WWII was overall epic win for America & allies. The ensuing Cold War and subsequent foreign policy is what's really drove home the suckage. Though could easily mention American Imperialism and Manifest Destiny in the 19th Century were also pretty uncool times :/
You're in your 60s?
*cough*
But yeah censorship sucks. :C
Also, whai aren't you online? D:
