IBS?

I know. I can see how some of my symptoms resemble it, and to tell you the truth, we were always pretty sure I had a really mild form of it before all this. But this pain does not resemble what I've read from IBS sufferers one bit and is not relieved by the things that normally relieve it, as I've been on a controlled diet since this started just in case it was my intestines. I can't do certain movements, I can't even dance....We got that new micheal jackson game for wii and I can't even play it cause I end up in pain.

and they did scans?

idk when my grandmother had pains like that they found out her intestines had literally twisted around :c

You might be on to something... If you didn't feel pain during any barium enema, and they found nothing, your intestines could have looped onto each other in a sock like motion. Ask your doctor the possibility of this. >.<

Doesn't that stop bowel movements?

I haven't had barium enema, just a barium follow through. They actually haven't looked at my large intestine which I believe its the next step.

all the test i've done. Various Blood work. Urine Tests. Upper Abdominal Ultrasound, Pelvic Ultrasound. CT Scan, Barium Follow Through of small intestine, gastroscopy. Blood work has shown elevated white cell count numerous times...though they haven't check up on that in awhile. Gastroscopy showed inflammed duodenum possibly due to h. pylorai which I have been treated for both...pain has localized lower, near belly button...but appendix showed fine on ct despite it being in that area.

you are right, I believe it does. Assuming you are fine in that department, I am not sure what else I'd look for. bellybutton range is odd to me.

I'd deff check large intestines & dont worry about the white cells, a lot of people jump to 'cancer' but really it could be anything, even infection!

perhaps a bacteria issue... although you said you were on antibiotics. hmmm.

actually been on a few antibiotics since this all started..as I was on some to keep my open incision from getting infected...and then some they had me on when they thought it was my gallbladder. So I dunno. I am at a loss, and mom says I just need to break down for this surgeon to get her to realize I am falling apart.

Ask them to do a blood test for H Pylori if they have not yet.
I went through months of unexplained abdominal issues, and it was a -nurse- who suggested somebody test me for H Pylori. It's a spiral bacteria that causes ulcers, and it can be present without ulcers being present and cause a bunch of problems.

Tested and been through the antibiotic treatments. It shouldn't be effecting me the way this pain does. It is not a burning, or a cramping pain..it is a sharp, stabbing pressure that builds over the day, not to mention movement effects it.

Its been awful. Its been since the right end of august beginning of sept, and has pretty much put my life on hold, besides er visits, tests and doctor visits. Its just not been fun and I am just as mentally exhausted as I am physically, and doctors keep putting me on the backburner.

I am absolutely terrified of the attacks to, the pain is usually there but I can get these crippling attacks of severe stabbing pain that just floor me with no relief.

I wonder if it could be simple as a small hernia... or something more complex like Chron's... My prayers are with you.

No. See I've had the test to rules those out already. Barium Follow through is for chrons...Ct would most likely pick of a hernia.

I've read a lot about it....I mean some symptoms add up but some don't. I guess talking to someone who has a really acute case may help me but I dunno....Also from what I read Doctors cast off what they can't figure out as IBS.

just keep hounding them. have they ruled out endometriosis? i don't know if that's anywhere near where your pain is, but i have a friend who has it and she gets sharp stabbing pains too, and also has trouble dancing. do painkillers help relieve the pain at all?

I think that is usually during menstrual cramps is it not? As you can get a cyst because of it. They ruled out any cysts and the CT scan said my ovaries looked fine. I am on Deprovera and haven't had cramps for almost a year now, its wonderful. But I am pretty sure that means they've ruled out issues with my lady parts, I think the next step is my large intestine since they haven't looked there. I don't know. Been taking this anti-spasm pills cause he thinks its IBS and they arn't doing anything, so I don't think my pain is caused by spasming intestinal walls like it says. Though that may be a good thing, cause I want them to rule out IBS its too broad and too much of a cop out and the only treatment is really diet and hoping it goes away.
