It's been a while since the last journal. I took a mini vacation a few hours up north to see some friends, and I had a blast. It's the last day before I'll be heading back home. Bon fires, guns, hot tubs in nearly freezing mornings, staying up for over 24 hours and only getting 2 hrs of sleep, meeting great people, and couple it together with the good ol' fashioned Southern Hospitality.

I always carried a resentful prejudice to redneck culture, but I'm happy that I got to be submerged in the thick reality of Alabama culture. It's a lot different compared to my part of where I live. I was happy to be apart of a cheerful, rowdy get-together. It helped me realize that I don't know everything, and the best learning happens when you branch out and open up to experiences- which I always felt like doing, just needed a little time off and a place to go.

There's a reality show based in my hometown, featuring a set of four preppy females. TLC is sponsoring, and now I just wonder what kind of geniuses over-looked the Best part, the Real part, of Alabama culture that resides in places like these. And it's much more entertaining.
