Not at this scale, but they connected 12 or more homemade batteries and tested them for electric acupuncture and some other stuff...
They weren't really powerful, but with the right amount they could do the work, a huge amount...

Sorry to hear that happend. Honestly, never been too impressed with Antec PSU's myself. I've stuck with Enermax and FSP (Fortron Source) mostly.

Yeah, I did consider a FSP one util I decided to go all the way and got that new Seasonic 650W S12 Energy Plus. Excellent quality and performance with effiency in the top range as well. Not the cheapest piece of hardware, but you should never cut corners on the PSU. And I do need the power for my SLI rig, with all the HDDs and all.

Hell its even supposed to be one quiet MF too! :)

My next planned psu is actually an ATX redundant psu for more power and reliability. that will be a pretty penny but my case will hold it.
