Scanners for sale
If you can't see this you're not watching hard enough.
This is probably crossposted to other blogs/journals/sites, and is first-come first-serve.
I've come into possession of an Epson Perfection 2580 Photo scanner. The scanner is in good condition, no serious blemishes on the casing and no problems scanning aside from some things about the software*.
-Tested up to 1200 DPI
-12s scan at 200 DPI
-USB interface
-24V AC adapter included
-USB A to USB B cable included
-Driver and software CD included (Windows, 98SE to XP, Vista/7 can be found on Epson's website, as can drivers for Macintosh and Linux.)
-Scanner has a negatives feeder. I can't vouch for its quality but it looks to be built well.
The software I got from Epson's website seemed to increase the brightness and gamma of the scanned images. Using Windows Fax and Scan within Windows 7 didn't produce the same results. The increased brightness and gamma did not ruin the image though, simply reducing the pair in an image-editing program brought them back to a reasonable appearance.
Drivers for 64-bit operating systems are available, though they seem to be labelled as 32-bit (part of an all-inclusive package, it seems.)
The scanner has a lock on it to keep the head from moving while in transit. I found out that having this lock engaged while trying to scan will halt the scanner and make its light flash red.
I'm looking to sell this scanner for about $50 (used) + shipping. If you'd like to grab it, leave a comment here or email me. As much as I'd love to play favorites, this is a first-come first-serve offer. Preferred payment is through Paypal. Shipping costs depend on whether the scanner goes UPS or USPS and what sort of urgency is needed.

On another note, I also have a Visioneer 4800 for sale. Unfortunately I cannot provide any drivers for it (I don't have the disc), and support for Vista/7 32-bit is iffy. As far as I could tell, the scanner will not work on 64-bit systems unless you somehow manage to compile your own drivers (no source is provided). So essentially, this scanner is untested (but in good condition) and drivers are only provided for 98-XP at http://support.visioneer.com/produc...../downloads.asp
This scanner I'm selling for $20-25 with shipping included. (If you want something ridiculous like next-day air, it'll probably go for more.)
