Homemade eggnog is the best, miles better than the store baught crap. Just heat to 175F for a few seconds and its safe to drink, flavor to taste with vanilla, instant coffe, or what ever alcohole of your choosing.

The risk of salmonella from raw / undercooked eggs is vastly overrated. If you're not immunocompromised, it's not that risky to indulge once in a while.
Although I will grant that salmonella is severely not-fun to have
and yes, homemade eggnog *is* a zillion times better than store-supplied corn-syrup laden glycerine goo. Nearly anything homemade (that is well-made) is
