Hoppy Nude Deer!

One thing I got for Christmas was sick. Since I'm still on he mend, I figure it would be best if didn't go visit anyone tonight. So I'm sitting here watching 1941 when my Mom calls to see how I'm feeling.
This is nice right? Maybe for some people. >.>
When she asks if I'm going out, I tell her what I'm doing and explain what the movie is about.
The first thing out of her mouth is: "The threat of Jap invasion was no laughing matter!"
This is the one of the biggest reasons there is little joy in my life.
She then went on a long winded rant about how bad it a threat it was, how scared everyone was and some of the bad things the Japanese navy did here, including killing everyone and occupying the Aleutians.
She also said my Grandpa was stopped by a Japanese sub once and they took the fuel out of his boat.
Now this is interesting! I've heard about his fishing boats, but not heard this before!
Of course when I asked why she hadn't told me about this before, she said she did, but I must of been thinking about other things. ~.~
Whatever.
I've always enjoyed hearing about Grandpa, his life and especially about Alaska. But she would rarely talk about him.
And people wonder why I don't go visit her.
In other news, the trailer mechanic at work left this on my desk for Christmas.

It's not very strong and no where as "smooth" as he claimed, but not bad with Pepsi.
This is no where near as good.

In fact, it's on of the few things I haven't been able to finish.
Also, should I be worried, or more so disturbed, that I make a delicious pie filling?

I never heard about the Japanese taking fuel like that. It does show that they had merit in that they did not sink your grandfather's boat or take him prisoner. Even Pappy Boyington was picked up by a Japanese sub after being shot down and he reported they treated him fairly.
So... grain of salt...

He never talked of much that happened there, just that it was really bad and that he had to do things he didn't want to remember.
Exactly, it's hard to know what really happened sometimes. Just like now, sometimes it's hard to tell what things are really like because people only talk about what's exciting and dramatic.
The horrific sells much better than the uplifting news.
