Well, its THAT time of the year again, and I'm being sent to Las Vegas for CES. I think this will be my eighth. Every year its pretty much the same: Look at all the tasty electronic bits, look at empty pockets= No tasty electronic bits. :( Oh, well. Next year will be different, yes? I pretty much just idea shop, anyways. I simply don't have $40K+ for a pair of horn speakers. That's why I'm going into the business of making some of the loudspeaker bits myself- I mean, why not? I build the amps already…

I just love Vegas, though. I'm hoping to hook up with the Wacom people this year, maybe get some swag- like baseball caps or tote bags. I coveted my friend's piece of the Berlin wall, encased in Acrylic, that she received at one of the design conferences. Sure, you could just go around and BUY one, but this one was especially awesome, because it held the following inscription (paraphrased to the best of my memory):

"This is a piece of the Berlin Wall. We present this to you in remembrance of the people who lived and died behind it, and as thanks to you, the artists, who helped bring it down."

I looked at it every time I visited their house. Sophomoric? A little. But what an amazingly powerful little trinket. Kind of makes my espresso mug collection pale in comparison.
