because a long time ago a group of men got together and decided to write a magic book. and anything in this magic book is the absolute law, and even though it says slavery is a-ok, and that you should be put to death for eating shellfish or shaving. homosexuality is the only thing in there that can't be changed because they didn't really mean the other stuff, but this one they meant srs bsns
