I hate it when people say that they don't hate the LGBT community, they just want to protect the "traditional" institutions and promote the bible. This is just the exact same argument we've been listening to for close to a century. First the issue was slavery, and you know who was promoting it? The super religious nutbags who wanted to "protect a traditional institution that was ratified by religion" that's right folks. the exect. same. fucking. argument. they pulled their quotes from leviticus as well. People also used religion to try and keep interracial marriages from happening, and many said they were just "protecting the institution of marriage." So why, after hearing the exact same argument for this long, do people still not see that it's just thinly veiled hate and bigotry? I suppose it fits in with the philosophy of "those who do no learn from their mistakes are domed to repeat them." More and more evidence that we are born lesbian, born gay, born bisexual, and born transgender is revealed each day. and these people continue to ignore the evidence and push out as many bigoted lies as they can. I personally hold these people responsible for the insurmountable numbers of LGBT kids who are turned from their homes by their bigoted families, the astounding amount of LGBT citizens around the world who have been killed just for the fact that they're different, and the even more awe-inspiring amount of LGBT youths that have killed themselves. I just can't understand it.
