I just got word the only road out of where I work is blocked about a mile from here due to a cop being killed in a shooting.
And the suspect got away...

The updated news is the Police Chief was shot in the head and killed. He was responding to a report of an attempted car theft. Getting into a struggle with the suspect, the suspect somehow got a hold of his gun.
The 21 year old suspect was wounded in a standoff, but expected to live.

I met the chief once. He came to oversee us firing our last mechanic when we felt he was unstable and not sure how he would react.
The chief was a nice guy.
