Sending large files through the web?

So, I'd like to send some of my friends copies of "Time" through email. Gmail is dumb and only allows uploads of like 10megs.
I've been searching for a site I can upload the space to and then send them the link, but most of them are riddled with ads and hard to find download links.
Anyone have any suggestions for a file sharing site that doesnt bog you down with advertisements and is friendly to use?

Or maybe use a torrent? Dunno how that works for sure or if your friends or yourself know enough about it though.
