Do you mean the very first sonic game ever made? The one for genesis? Cause if you do, I know how to get knuckles in the first level and I could tell you how.

Alright. Now I don't now if it'll work, it might have just been a glitch that came up while downloading it onto my computer, but do this:
1. Go to Google.com
2. Type in "knuckles in sonic 2 gamefabrique"
(gamefabrique is a website with free downloadable genesis games)
3. After that, click on Sonic and Knuckles(it should be the second link. Don't click on the link that says Knuckles in Sonic 2)
4. When you go to that page on gamefabrique, it says that the game is Sonic and Knuckles, but IT'S NOT.
5. Click on Sonic and Knuckles Game(it's in blue letters)
6. Do everything you need to do to download it. It's very fast, easy and free. Trust me. I've downloaded more thasn 20 games from there.
7. Start playing the game. It will be Knuckles in Sonic 2. When you start, it will say that the level is Emerald Hill, but it ends up being Green Hill from Sonic 1. The level is kind of messed up, and I don't think it's possible to beat all three acts(the first one is possible to beat, however). But really it's pretty cool. nah. i got a hack of sonic. you play as knux in it. and you can glide and spin dash too. it makes it easyer

Lol, I would if I had a game system... The only games I got to play growing up was Sonic games on Sega Genesis, and whatever games my mate and I decide to play together at his house.

oh.

The first game with him as playable Char was the third one I think, but his own game was called Knuckles Chaotix, and had all these side story chars in it, like that alligator, the bee and the charmeleon.

I think it came out for the Sega Genesis with 32x (which you shouldn't buy) and or the Sega CD (which you shouldn't buy either).
