First batch of the new year, hooray! I'm really going to try to improve the quality of my work this year, as well as my turnaround time. Y'all probably know the drill by now. One or two characters, nothing creepy or explicit. Prices for paper-drawn sketches are going up, but now that I have a tablet, I can use that to provide digitally-drawn sketches for the same low price.

Pose: What I wanted this time was Nenna "grooming" through Wolfram's fur. Meerkats in general show how much they like one another by grooming their fellows. So why not have her sifting through his fur with her hands. Oh! And I don't want her wearing her fur in this one but you can have her sitting on it if you want.

Since the ref pic is not in colour: The "blades" in her mane are feathers, btw. Her body fur colour is that of a normal jaguar, it fades to black at her face, hands and feet. Her ears are marked like a jaguar, and her elbows are tufted with feathers. The feathers are from a blue-and-gold macaw, including the fan of feathers on her tail. Her mane is an orangey red. :)
PREFERENCES (IF ANY)-
Pose: Sitting on the floor or on pillows on the floor, comfortable, relaxed.
Mood/Emotion: Good cheer, calmness, close friendship. :)
Level of Affection: Well, we've been best friends since second grade, so...we're like siblings except we don't hate each other. :)

Background Color: Whatever you think looks best! :) I like to give artists some free reign to do things that they think will work for an image, I try not to restrict them too much on stuff like BG colors or poses or whatever. The more I leave to the artist, the better. :)
ANYTHING ELSE- Could they be smoking hookah? Maybe a rose theme or something. Roses and smoking? :) I'm very fond of rose-flavored tobacco in a hookah pipe, lol. :)
If you aren't ok with the hookah part (disclaimer: we don't use pot, lol) just let me know! Also, sorry for the delay, I was drop-dead exhausted the other night. Been on pain meds for a week now, they're fucking me up and I can't wait to not need them. Any day now... O.O

Can you believe my little Munchkin spent a year languishing in a shelter? O:
Here's our story in a nutshell: My roommate was thinking about adopting another cat, I went with because the roomie has NO perspective and will adopt a pet because it's cute and not for it's personality. I was there just to make sure the wrong cat didn't come home...and I'd just lost my dear elderly Tortoishell, Shadow ( http://pics.livejournal.com/ranting.....c/00026atx/g19 ). When I saw Ember, I was shocked...she was in the "kittyloaf" position just like Shadow loved to sleep, and I thought for a moment that she WAS Shadow. I stared, she purred at me, and I asked one of the shelter people if I could meet her. They pulled her out of the kennel, and when they grabbed her, I realized her legs are like...teeny! They said she'd been surrendered over a year earlier, heavily pregnant. All her kittens got homes, but nobody ever wanted her. She was so sweet...I adopted her. :) I then found out she's got some health problems and she's hearing impaired, but it doesn't bother her. I also found out she's the most outgoing, sweet-natured, friendly cat EVER...she walks on a leash, will approach anyone (including dogs she's never met) to make friends, and she behaves better for grooming at the salon than most of my dog clients! She's so outgoing that lately I've been keeping her in claw caps...to get her used to wearing them. Next spring/summer, I want to look into her becoming a therapy animal...she'd be GREAT at it. :)
Today I picked up Shadow's cremains from the vet...she was a rescued kitty too, and honestly I think it a great tribute to her to rescue another kitty. Ember cannot EVER replace my Shadow, she was my friend and support and she bonded to my son...she was more loyal than any dog, and nothing can take away all the good times we had...but I think she'd understand that Ember is helping me deal with my grief and sadness.
It sounds like Ember would make a good therapy animal! Good luck with that :D
