Full Disclosure Project
General
This weekend will see the beginning of my full disclosure project, wherein I will post ever picture I have ever done, ten at a time starting from the beginning of my drawing life starting in high school, all the way up to present. Previous iterations that have been posted will not be reposted but will be linked to in some sort of series way.
A fuller description of the project may be found on my LJ, linked on my front page and aging website.
There are so many drawings, including pen sketches and stuff done on old legal pads, that this may take a year or so if I do an upload of ten pictures a day, so, keep an eye out if you're interested. I'll be on the "just posted" page a lot.
The majority of the oldest stuff will end up in the scraps category due to their quality gap from my current works, but that will change if I can figure out some organizing method here on the site. I don't know of one, but perhaps the feature has been implemented since I last earnestly posted works here.

This will eventually be linked in the front page and categorized by character, medium, era and so on.
Yesterday I contacted the admins (or so I thought) and requested info on whether my project might raise some red flags, as the end sum of images is most likey going to skew against the fandom related content, though I'm not sure how badly it will end up that way as I'm going to collage a number of the drawings together but count them separately in the daily count.
The first batch of images are just going to be of the most appallingly bad sort. Embarrassingly so. But, then, that's the point.
I feel morally obligated to include even the least of the drawings in this project. Otherwise, what is the honesty in calling it the "Full Disclosure Project" if I'm going to be selective about it?
Part of what I"m working out right now is creating some sort of standardized framed image layout for the majority of the 'first era' pictures so that they have at least some sort of visual appeal. Taking a page from several artists of the sort like Alector Fencer I'm working on setting a dirty tone-textured background that doesn't necessarily take the line art into account, but does help it stand out well. I'm adding a deco border in around that and a label plate in the image with the name and estimated date placed in it.
Further images that start to stand on their own will not use this template unless it benefits the work somehow.
Based on what the one finished sketch collage I've got going looks like, I'm going to skip the idea of putting the images in the scrap bin. They'll look fine in the base image directory. However, I want to build up a que before I begin posting at the stated volume. Photoshop has been acting buggy, though the 32 bit version is stable. It's slower, but the 64-bit application is crashing my Win-7 machine every hour or so, and it's destroyed a lot of the work I've done in the past few days in the process.
However, since I now have a template that I like, all I have to do from this point is scan the images in and edit out the page lines, which will be enough of a job as it is, as the lightness of the original pencil work vs the color of the page lines is comparable, and photoshop has a hard time picking one out from the other. I've had varied levels of success, but I expect some bumps. That, and the fact that the paper is of such low quality that the pencil lines visibly warped the page and have a definite effect on the end scan result.
The early era is going to be a pain, but, I'll ford through. There are many good things on the other side.
Posting will begin about Monday of next week, I imagine
This new computer has helped make a lot of progress in my novel and other projects already though, and once I get my mini-tablet back, I'll be able to use this for art projects also. I think tomorrow I'm not going to work on setting up images, but instead bulk scan as many of the old pictures as I can.
Going back over those I have scanned in already, though, I notice that they are actually quite dark and well lined, for what they are. I think I'm going to have to tweak the scanner settings a bit before I really make a push.
Still no word from the admins. I guess I'll deal with consequences later for any imbalance in content that shows up.
