World Furs - Tour
General
I decided to make furs from all over the world.
Here's how I'm going to do this. You guys get to propose your own country. That is, you have to be Peruvian to propose Peru. I want the country, the animal you feel it mostly represents that country (please, try to pick a mammal when possible, also, this is to avoid things like drawing a Greek Panda) and what kind of clothing is stereotypical and/or traditional to that country. I might harass you with more information about it. The idea is to be fun about this.
I know there are lot of people here that is not from the USA, and well, I want you guys to participate.
Sorry to the American furs that will have to sit this one out, but hey, you are the ones that usually get all the fun around here.
TLDR version: Your country if it's not listed already, the animal you feel is representative from it and the stereotypical way you guys dress or the traditional one. If you see someone already mentioned your country, and I haven't drawn it yet, feel free to offer alternatives.
Also, if you can add whether men are usually cut or uncut in the country, that will help :D
World Furs so far:

02.- Norway -link-

05.- United States of America -link-
06.- China

If you google traditional clothing for men, if those are strongly blue/red colored or four winds hat, its same people not finlands, common mistake
Think Norway, but plainer. Or something like this.
There's Kalevala styled clothing too but that would be pushing it.Also, a lion in the coat of arms.
japan tanuki

modify this one to poor or rich, but the hat is a must!
This could be really interesting. :3
So I say, it should be either a Goat in Futbol uniform or a Donkey in poncho and sombrero.
Also being Californian, and there are a lot of BEARS in the US, we could be a grizzly or other brown bear. Smokey represents for our country. :) Also, bears are HOT in Native American 'gear'.
The fun thing about Australia is that it has many signature animals, like the koala, the echidna, the tasmanian devil and the platypus. So it would be an interesting pick. As for the clothing, do you have any idea on what would be fun?
If you wanna be a bit more traditional you could always go for the colonial era cattle station look, like The Man from Snowy River style - the character appears on our $10 note. http://www.google.com.au/images?q=t.....0snowy%20river
If you want to insult all Australians and get a lot of laughs from Americans, you can do Steve Erwin... please don't.
I want to be funny and sexy, but I don't want the images to be overly disrespectful. I'm sure some Italians might get pissed by the Italy one, but I did it because it looks hot, not to make fun of them (also the idea came from an Italian).
So I think I rather do a beach bum than something that could be taken as a Steve Erwin joke or "crocodile" Dundee.
While surfing and beach bumming is a popular element of Australian culture, I don't think it captures a more tradtional sense of the country.
I'd put my vote in for colonial wear, The man from Snowy River style, or the old sheep shearers. Something rural and argricultural.
Of course, feel free to use just boardshorts if you want ;)
But the Ifugao clothes are indeed very interesting. Feel free to link me to the ones you find more appropriate for a dirty carabao to wear. ;)
You can have some liberties with the Barong, the important part there is only the polo-thing. But I prefer the Ifugao attire in this situation xD
Here are some links to some decent pictures of the traditional male Ifugao attire:

Also, are philipinos usually cut or uncut?

Me gusta la idea, creo que es el primer felino que se nombra :3
oh bueno no quiero parecer ignorante pero tampoco sé mucho de la fauna argentina pero deben ser los mismos animales al otro lado de la cordillera pero con más bovinos no? x3
saludos :3
The country were people eats snails, frogs and tells to everyone they're the best to everything.
Rooster is the traditional animal who represents France. It's a proud animal, very arrogant, he likes to have a lot of chickens around him and he likes to awake everyone an hour before the sun comes. Don't look for the center of the Universe: it's him. He likes also to sing when no one wants to hear him. So it would be a nice choice.
But it's not a mamm.
So what we have here ?
Dogs who poop everywhere (mostly in Paris), cats who don't care to hunt for their food, except for cans of tuna fish...
Oh, now, we have some wolves in the Alps. And some bears in mountains. Well, all real french bears died years before, all hunted by drunked hunters. Our new bears comes from Slovenia. But it's the same thing : their flag is also blue, white and red, so...
Yea, a lazy well hung bear would be a nice choice.
Just forgot : before being conquested by the roman empire (don't feel sorry about us, we're used to loose a lot of wars), the wild boar was often used to represent Gallia. If it might help...
As for the boar, I am a big fan of Asterix, so I'm used to that image.
What do you think the french fur should be wearing? what do you find representative of France? be it traditional clothing or something stereotypical.
In my mind I have this very american cliché of the french poet, but I want something more accurate of what a french person thinks.
Besides, we all hate alpine marmot here now, because we can't stand anymore "rené la taupe" and his song "mignon mignon" we heard all last summer... We all bought a shootgun for the next time we see or hear him on our radio or tv.
The clothing is also someting difficult. We have a lot of traditionnal kind of clothings but if you choose something from the north-east, the south-west will be mad about it, and so on... (no one wear it except for local fairs of course or to be seen on tv). We're not afraid to be naked but if you need some, you can try a rugby player clothing.
We like rugby. Well, we like football (soccer) more, but after the last world cup, they try to be forgotten. And believe me, it's better for all (we still have a "dead or dead" reward on the head of our last national team coach).
So yea, we like also rugby. We kicked asses of all other nothern hemispher's teams last year (and yea, we were also kicked this way by all the southern part, but it's like most of our wars, we're used at it). And a big well hung pyrean bear with rugby clothing open on his bulge would fits for a lot yea.
French are poets ???
No way, we're just great seducers...
And I'd say to go along with the fox, it reminds me of the story: "La romance de Renart" (litteraly: The story of the Renart the fox) which is representative of french folklore. And the way he tricks people is just so typical of many french plays...
For the clothing, I'd say go for something like this:
-at "00:20" in this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ez6HLan9Wi0
-http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MoiRenart

For some reason the clothing just seem very french to me without being too cliche.
Pretty typical dress of a country bumkin and to the pub, in all honesty XD
I wish I had something more creative for you! You might want to throw in a pipe for some added irish daddy flavor.
Hah, you're awesome.
Pues...tradicionalmente, si, no venia nada o.o
The clichee dress would be some bavarian leather pants, but I have to admit I have never seen someone wear these XD
But please no nazi uniforms. We are pretty sensitive about these.
I like the German shepherd or a Rottweiler. I think that when it comes to animals, Germany is famous for it's intense dog breeding.
Where do the bavarian leather pants come from then? XD
But really, if you think there is something else than the leaderhosen, let me know.
Also, I assure you, I won't do nazi uniforms to represent Germany here.
Curious data: Are most german cut or uncut?
But each guy I slept with was uncut X3
Another important animal in Germany is the badger, I forgot to mention. Badgers even reside in german cities nowadays.
But if you decide to do the German shepherd or rottweiler, it sure would be cool to put him in a german police uniform! Some time ago, there were these fawn uniforms with the green stripes. The new uniforms are light blue with dark blue. But I think the new uniforms look rather "european" instead of "german".
This is the new police uniform: http://www.morgenpost.de/multimedia.....ch_101629b.jpg
But I like the old uniform moar: http://polpix.sueddeutsche.com/polopoly_fs/1.102279.1273507947!/image/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/536x536/image.jpg
I'm strongly in favor of the German Shepherd, because it is the most German of animals.
Clothing:
How about a WW1 uniform? (won't offend anybody, and the spiked helmet is très chic)
Hmmm, a mammal, representative from France ? Tough one, i have to say !
All personnal preferences aside, Officialy, the rooster is our emblem (seriously, why a rooster ? T.T)
But as stated by my slightly bitter compatriot, not only is this not an animal really... Attractive in itself, but most people I know doesn't enjoy to be associated with him.
After the disparition of true pyrennean bears, even if i love the specie to the deepest of my heart, i assume choosing them would not be a good cultural choice either, nor the worlf wich was associated with evil for a very long time :/
What are we left with ?
In my mind, if we go back to when we were still Gallics (thanks google, i had no idea what the english word was for that :p), Then, the boar was a recurring symbol.
Emblem, symbol of strength, courage, his form was used for war-horns (Carnyx) and is very linked to the Gallic people.
If we jump through time, to the age of kings, then the only real symbol i can think of is the lion and the eagle, used on some royal/nobles arms (blazons) and since the eagle is an avian, well, it leave only the feline.
As for the outfit, there is the stereotypical beret + brown vest & pants + bread under the arm, that would go well with the boar, i'd say, but to be honest, its a huuuuuuuge stereotype that you never actually get to see in real life, unless, maybe, on some very small, far away hamlets (thanks google trad again ^^; ) forgotten by time, with like, no internet, no telephone, and maybe no running water.
As stated previously by anothe compatriot, the musketeer outfit is also a good idea, and would fit more with the lion and its royal/noble side. It might be an out of time vision, as there is not a lot of musketeers left, but i can't think of something screaming more "FRANCE !" than that. Exept, of course, the phrygian cap, but at least, the musketeer outfit is fashionable. As strong as the Phrygian cap is as a symbol, it does makes one looks like a smurf.
Hoping it'll be of help ^^
My problem with lions is that... they are not from Europe at all! XDEven if they are part of medieval lore of basically all Europe, they a
Ok, one wikipedia article later it turns out there were Lions in Spain France and Italy at some point in history.
What I am surprised is that now two French guys have told me that the wolf is not adequate.
I have to say, I never expected France to be so complex to decide XD
After all, picking the bear or the lion would be the same since both local versions of the animal are extinct now.
As for the outfit, I really really want to avoid military outfits for this series.
This is turning really complex XD
I will have to think how can I compromise all this data with my ideas :P
Well, it's most a bavarian one (you'll see no one in berlin wearing that but in Munich, a lot). But it fits too for all Germany.
En cuanto al vestuario... hmmmm... lo unico que se me ocurre sería algo como esto: http://paipa-boyaca.gov.co/apc-aa-f....._brochure1.jpg
Cabe aclarar que soy de Colombia, no? xD
Animal: Moose. There is nothing Swedish-er than moose. Moose are so Swedish Germans steal our moose warning signs.
Clothing: http://www.charlotte-weibull.se/but.....Lo/0570_Lo.jpg (national costume, hee!)
And men are, generally, uncut.
O un coyote ranchero.
O una iguana jarocha.
O un oso azteca
Springbok
Usually we wear a rugby jersey and shorts
Uncut or cut, doesn't matter.
