I just had to share this. My dog found his lost kong toy buried in the couch, and when I threw it for him, it bounced and landed in his water dish. Now it's sitting there, only halfway submerged (it's a very small dish, sized for a cat), and my dog finds this extremely distressing. He keeps whining and giving me big, guilt-inducing "help me" eyes. I tried sitting next to the bowl and encouraging him to get the kong himself, but he acted like I was trying to drown him and wouldn't get within a foot of it. I don't know what his damage is. But I'm refusing on principle to get it out for him.

This is a dog, mind you, who has enthusiastically dived into Lake Superior (and Lake Michigan, and several different ponds and smaller lakes) to fetch sticks and balls.

What a goof.
