Animatronics, and I am getting fat!

Man, fursuit work makes you soft.
I reached my threshold weight today. That is my failsafe "not fat yet" weight I planned ahead for. Meaning if I don't go run around the block a few times I am going to start muffin topping any day now.
Sure enough, I practiced some new dance moves, and thought twice about second helpings.
But fursuit making really takes all your time. I feel bad cooking 3 meals a day, as prep, and clean up time take so long. So I go for quick food to stay on task. I am lucky I am a vegetarian, and don't eat fast food, or I would have been typing this like 3 or 4 months ago. I am not saying vegetarians don't get fat.. Pringles are meat free... I just know it's easer to pass up Wendy's when you can only order 3 items on the entire menu.
But I still eat quick, and pre made foods, and that never helps. Pasta, bread, rice. They are so easy to make a quick meal of.. and they are so tasty too.
I guess it's back to carrot sticks, and raw kale for me.
It was a good run, and I got to eat rice pudding for breakfast, but that time has ended.
When I used to have my other job I was riding my bike up to 50 miles a day.. just because. Now I am lucky if I see the sun for a few minutes from my to the mailbox, and back....
So, need to get a Gym membership.. and not eat food with flavor... damn it.
On a lighter note.
I had mentioned a few months back that I would be working on some animatronics. I had a guy that was going to help me out, and get the ball rolling. But after doing the math, and just running out of time to play around, it took a back seat.
But I am determined to make it work. I recently have been going with
chorca to the lab. He is probably my favorite person outside of my direct family. I have been a handful of times now, and met the members of the group. I think I came on a little strong. lol.. I tend to joke too much when I meet new people. It's a coping mechanism for nervousness. Oh well, they didn't seem to mind.
That reminds me, I need to pay them to be in the club.. I should do that sooner than later.
Hopefully I will be doing that in my spare time, and can work towards results.
I AM OFFERING STEEPLY DISCOUNTED COMMISSIONS ON THESE NEW IDEAS.
Basically, ask me to make something, pay for the parts, and
I will tinker in my spare time for you.
That dose come at a compromise, though. All of the animatronics projects, and other new fabrication methods are highly experimental, and may have unforeseen issues down the line.
It will be a very limited amount of commissions, if you want to even call it that. As I will be working for free, and only ask you pay for parts, and the like.
If you are interested in something like that, email me. It's not first come first serve, and is not a regular commission by any means. So, I may be fairly picky about what I decide to take up.

FA+

my biggest downfall is alot of black people's addiction.....fried chicken.....
*sigh*
I remember the guilt trip that poor boy had every time he sat down to chicken, and watermelon, lol.
He would say "I feel so bad to be a black man fulfilling the stereotype, but it's so good"..
Poor Ray, he hated himself for what he loved. lol
every once in a while......but yes....chicken and watermelon
is amazing.....gosh I want KFC or Popeyes right now
and on a good day when I am in my groove and working I tend to only take like 2000 steps in day according to my pedometer (vs 10,000+ on a shopping day or at a con)
i am starting to get faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat T_T which is not good, I plan to be officer Jenny alongside Arcanine at a con this spring and I need to slim down because all the skinny mini teen cosplayers at Sac-anime made me feel soooooooooooo big.
so, once I get started on something, I can not stop. In fear of losing my taught focus I will be hungry for hours, then I binge eat at the end of the day....
It's so bad, why do I do that?
when I take my concerta I am a working machine man! (without it I am such a "lalalala" little spaztastic twit)
annnnnnnnd concerta supressess appitite and being a 12 hour formula means I not only am too fosused to eat but do not want to eat so I get horid munchies when it wears off at the end of the day...
Still I tried going off the meds...i did not like the results so I am sticking with ma concerta.
One of the things I have been doing is I joined a gym that's only $10/month and I go there in the mornings before I start work. I don't do a lot of working out, just about ten minutes of walking on the treadmill and then some weights, every other day. It's helped a lot to at least build muscle, so I'm burning fat while I'm sitting still. I also sit on one of those giant balance balls, instead of a normal chair. I find I prefer it even because I can roll back and stretch my legs, it feels like a more natural sitting position than sitting on a chair. Crazy! O_o
Also I have taken to one or two days a week trying to cook up a few meals I can have extra leftovers of, things that keep well and freeze well. Chili (I like mine with lots of beans & veggies, no meat) or casseroles work really well, they're fairly easy to assemble and don't take a lot of work. I find that when I make food ahead of time I'm less likely to binge on the stuff that's bad for me.
Even so, working from home instead of my office job must be doing some good for me, I'm not exactly Skinny Minnie or anything, but I've lost ~10 pounds just from changing some habits. :)
(I'll settle for self-wagging tails that can curl up or twitch) :D
Keep us posted, this sounds like an exciting experiment!
But I don't believe you have to eat boring tasteless food for it to be good for you. I haven't gone hungry once since I started working out and eating right, and I doubt the Nutrisystem diet will ever leave me hungry as well. But I suppose it is a little harder for you because you're a vegetarian. But I know it is possible to have delicious food that will satisfy your tummy, vegetarian or not.
Also, I envy you, because I want to DANCE. I can't seem to make the time to teach myself, watching and practicing with video tutorials, etc. I keep telling myself "someday" because I want to have fun at a con dancing on stage and entertaining people during one of those fursuit dance competitions. For something like this, I really wish someone could help me learn one-on-one in person, to at least learn some basic moves.
Anyways, gonna send you an email. <3
Good luck with the animatronics! :D
I chopped up some of the following:
*Honey crisp apples
*Asian pear
*Navel orange
I fine chopped:
*a handful of cashews
Everything was mixed with an assortment of greens, a few scoops of artichoke and spinach hummus, shredded assortment of cheeses (asiago, parmesan, provolone), and a strawberry vinaigrette.
We have a small amount of a (previously carbonated) moscato wine, so I mixed it with orange juice.
I think you're fine. It's like furry, everyone there has their own quirks, and you settled down towards the end of the night. You'll be fine.
Lets DO STUFF
(BTW the 'lab' referred to is FamiLab http://familab.org )
