LRQ: if you could make a game..
ANY kind of game, with all the time and budget in the world, no restrictions, ONE game, what would you make?
I'm too tired to write anything myself now, but my game "Wild" is so damn cool in my head, just the idea of a furry panther sneaking around an island, utilizing futuristic gadgets and disguise methods to reach the inclined goals, an Epic storyline with exciting and personality rich characters, crazy and well produced cut-scenes, so many varied environments and the island is just packed dense with content for you to explore and take advantage of; and with countless of unique creatures to hunt and gather recourses from, it's a half stealth-adventure game, and half survival and hunting sim ;)
ok, I guess I did explain the rough idea of my game x3
I really need to go to sleep though, nighty all =w=

I think it'll be alright though as long as I keep the actual story and game design for myself.
I'm probly too keen to get my stuff out there and show it x3
no need to insult my intelligence tho
Asteticly Zeno Clash looks weeeeeird, and I haven't tried it out myself, the fighting system though I've heard is pretty comparable, especially for first person combat.
Also, the Condemned games may be something to look into if your wanting a FPF (first person fighter) it's kinda more of a horror game, but with pretty polished first person melee combat =)
jk, sounds cool, I like these kinds of games =)
I do too, just don't see many games that use the concept. Guess game creators are confused about having to make players choose between FPS style or hack-n-slashing. That or its just not a 'popular' concept.
shooters are fairly easy to make, it's just point an shoot, of course there is a lot to add into it to make in interesting and good, but it's the basic concept that is a lot easier to get a grasp of.
I think more games should develop both ways deeply and include both in a balanced and intuetive way =)
My 'other' idea is pretty much a video game version of the universe i'm tinkering with. Would like to see it in an RTS-ish form but since i have a fair amount of hand held weapons built and in mind it'd work better as a FPS. The only downside is most would think it too similiar to Halo, Unreal Tournament 3 or Mass Effect due to the alien/robotic-ish enemies that'd later show up. So a bit unsure on how i'd adapt my one little universe to a video game and what genre it'd fall into.
I though that was the only good and interesting part of call of duty black ops, never played thorugh it cuz the game (as any other cod) sucks balls, but that was a pretty neat sequence, and I'm sad that it wasn't implemented into a better game, maybe more developers will take that little concept further
Combat is hard irl, taking account to all of the sweat and exhaustion you get from even just jogging with a gun, and it affects your aiming dramaticly, plus theres not such thing as tangible cover, most things can be shot through, and you don't have the best concept of how much of yourself youre actually covering with said cover.
not to mention weather, wind, fatigue, and definently reloading and switching weapons, it doesn't take 2 second to reload irl.
now I don't know if you've actually fought, but theres so little other than opposing bullets and grenades that affect you in game.
plus a fairly powerful weapon could be vey heavy, and a pain to run around with, it's why the millitary trains so damn hard =I
