God, the trailer for that movie was enough torment already. The STORY, holy crap on a crutch. It's not even enough to make fun of because it's so generic.

i agree it was not a great movie. but i watched it for $3 the closing down theater instead of $11 when it was at the newer one. and at that price it was good enough for me (got what i paid for)

the thing i hated the most was that whenever they sang, THERE WAS NO FUCKING LIP SYNC! i mean...really now? you hear the words of the songs they sing, but their mouths move as if they are just regular howling. ok sure howling and singing go together from their prospective, but still...it just blew off to me as "wtf was that, animators?!"

with all that criticism, i still did manage to like a bit. there were like 2 or so isolated jokes that i laughed at, and i found the mom of the female wolf to be hilarious (shes the only character i liked).

Maybe for the $3, I'd watch it out of morbid curiosity.

LMFAO OMG THEY HOWL-SANG?! HOLY CRAP, THAT IS SO MUCH WORSE THAN I WOULD HAVE IMAGINED, DSKLJHKLSJ, I think by that point, I would have left the theatre, which I NEVER do. That is TOTALLY lazy, though it was probably done so as to be wolfish with the howling.

its a generic plot of love conquering class boundaries, and almost all the funny stuff they advertised happens within like the first 30 min. They did have a good vocal cast and there were a few nice things but it was not enough for me to reccomend the movie or to watch it again unless i literally had nothing else to do.

I only took a really shallow look at the voice talent and was not really impressed. A good voice cast isn't enough, half the time; you really need a good voice director to make the performances shine.

I finally got around to watching it this past weekend, and I agree. Cut-rate animation paired with a shallow plot. Plus the animation style itself kind of turned me off.
But I didn't expect much in the first place, so I wasn't too disappointed.

The shallow plot really made me grind my teeth in the trailer. Sad to know the animation itself was crap, too. Sadface. D:

I remember seeing the posters and being excited there was a wolf movie. Then I watched the trailer and wanted to die. Holy fuck. Legend Of The Guardians looked... yeah, like you said, on a whole nother planet. The look of that film is just gorgeous.

The whole thing was their own way and style of making the movie. So what if it doesn't look real? I thought the storyline itself was enough to watch the movie. I thought that everything they added to it, like the colors and various other things, were very interesting and added a lot of character to each and every one of the animals, making them unique. You'll have lots of movies like that, this one is just another one of them. It was cute and funny in my personal opinion.

Every movie is someone's way of making a movie. It doesn't mean it's good just because it's their version of things. And I didn't say it doesn't look real because as an animator, I actually really abhor hyper realism in 3D animation. I'm saying the designs themselves for the characters are ugly and have little appeal. You don't see the characters and say, "oh, it's so cute!" Or pull a random person off the street and ask if they even remember what the characters looked like. Whereas you could pull up a character like Wall-E or even Toothless and people would remember a lot about the movie and character.

Yes, there are a lot of movies like this one, which is a shame. Wasting the talent of a lot of artists on a load of crap. As a professor of mine used to say, you can't make a crappy script into a good movie; all you can do is polish and make it the shiniest piece of crap you can.
