gotta separate the SL world from fandom, in case someone stalk me there... @w@
maybe I'll just go somewhere else and find myself a mall.... >w<""
If you're worried about your SL account going public, then just note me here....I'll try to do the best I can to help. It's much easier if you're in the game, though. Either way, I wish you the best of luck and much success in your business venture.
BTW any suggestions about the renting price of a market place? I am kind new to this so IDK what's expensive and/or what's not @w@
got a magicbox, now I just need to find a place to rent so that I can put the box in it... @w@
each "set" contains multiple parts.
and there's more than one set to be sold, (say, a tiger fursuit, husky fursuit, etc....)
it is possible to put a "set" into a box, and then put these boxes of each avatar set into the same vendor, and sell them septately ? @w@
Avatars normally set up for something like 500-1000L, depending on quality of the avatar in question. Most creators also will allow for recoloring, or texture modifying, for free, but that's up to you. You can also take commissions for Avatars on SL, which run quite a bit higher than selling a generic Avatar, usually somewhere between 2000L-4000L, again depending on quality and at the discretion of the person that will be making it.
Include also in the box a Landmark to your shop/stall and a notecard with information about your product, if it animates, how to change eye color etc, as well as if you're willing to recolor any of the products within, as well as any commission information you care to share, it will prevent a lot of PM's to you asking if you take them.
hmm mod + copy can be a dangerous combo, since other's can understand the structure of the structure of the product and replicate it... @w@ but I'll use more sculpture prims to prevent stealing~ plus they can't steal the scripts in it tehe X3
okay I'll see what I can do~ wasn't planning to set the price higher than 1000L after all~ X3
*and licks~ <3*
poke the "hide comment" mistakenly when I was not looking... @w@
an item around 700 LD must be sold for 10+ a month to cover the cost of renting etc, and you must sold it 100+ to earn around $80 USD...which doesn't cover the time and energy to build it @w@
If I use the same amount of time to take commissions on FA, I already earn 7-8 times more money than it does.... @w@ in one word selling on SL doesn't earns much money but it'll waste you too much time that doesn't worth it...
plus it's fun building stuff~
I have to find you inworld now. :D
but I do wonder how to work out the aplha layer and then upload it to SL.... @w@ if I upload a transparent layer and "apply" it to my avatar it just being transparent and show the flesh under it... like not wearing clothes @w@ any idea where I can get the alpha texture pic? pleeeease? :3
I'm Shadowquine Maltz on there.
I thought it'll be some kind of texture for clothes, but it turns out a kind of special "clothes" which use transparent area to remove the avatar's skin and use white area to keep the parts we need X3~
ZOMG it really is easier than I expected, COOL! now I can build whatever I want in any shape or size! (I also mastered the character deformation) <3
