National Love Day

Also known as Valentine's Day.
I'm not a supporter of it, at all. I will tell someone I love them any time during the year, and I will not be pulled into feeling I 'have' to tell someone I love them out of one day of the year. It's a commercial scam, and I feel that if you love someone, you'll surprise them with it.
Doesn't it feel nicer to be given a present or told you're loved when you don't expect it? <3
Just stating my opinion, and I'll gladly respect everyone else's.

Forcing people to buy a card for the sake of just leaving something on the other hand... well, it's a sign that couple isn't going to last more than a year longer.
It's not what the stores tell you to do; it's how you handle the holiday. I could say the same for almost any holiday. I think if enough people start to treat the holidays by their value roots rather than what was set in their heads by the outside influences of commericalism, then the holidays will seem more like a time to relax and celebrate rather than another chore.
The way we separate, is that one day of the year is dedicated to love - which is something you do more than once a year.
But like I said, I respect your opinion, and I won't try and change that.
I am curious to ask though, why can't it be both? Why can't people celebrate love whenever they want and do something extra special Feb. 14th?
After all, if a couple really loves each other, then they're probably already doing that.
But that's just how I feel.
Nevertheless, I won't stop you if you want to shame those who just buy a card on Feb. 14th and just let it end there. They only enforce that only Feb. 14th thing you detest so much. We need more of the first and not of the latter!
