Car Accident and stuff
Car accident. Someone was dead-stopped on the roughly 500-foot-long on-ramp to the interstate in the middle of the road. I was trying to merge quickly into traffic and I checked my blind spot. When I turned my head back around I saw the vehicle completely stopped, put the brakes on but it was too late. Lots of screeching, burned tires and I rear-ended the vehicle.
I'm in a world of shit now as I have a court date sometime in March and a traffic ticket of an unknown amount probably in the thousands, not to mention the phenomenal cost of the insurance claim and the very high possibility of a lawsuit by the other party. This will most likely put me completely in debt so far in the negatives I won't be able to put any money on my student loans, they'll default, I'll get sued by the loan company and that'll be the end of my employment most likely.
Expect major delays in production of new artworks, especially the launching of the Webcomic.

I hope everything works out.
Hope it works out better then you fear.
and the guy doesn't get the fault for being dead stop in the middle of the road?? This fender-bender law is stupid as hell..
Thinking about what I saw when I got out of the vehicle and looked back at my tire marks, the flat portion of the ramp (where it leveled off to the same elevation as the interstate) actually in comparison is more like the length of the property I'm on: about 250 or 300 feet.
*hugs*
Handle it as best as you can, m y dear, and I hope for the best in how things work out. We're here for you if you need us.
Someone I know crashed a car, turned out the guy who stopped infront wanted a new car + money, so was waiting for him to look away or something. Called old bill, turned out the guy was an illegal immigrant. Fool.
Just say itll be ok, and it so shall be :D
I'm sorry hun. really sorry.
Also there were zero injuries so only car damage will need to be repaired. That and we both have the same insurance company.
Good luck hun.
It's the goddamn Department of Transportation's fault for building a short 500-foot on ramp to an elevated portion of the interstate.
...sadly, "the system" doesn't see it that way. Bunch of [bleep]s.
I get P.O.d way too easily with stupid drivers. I have an extremely short tolerance for stupidity at all, and none whatsoever on the road. Forgive me if I'm blowing up too much but... come on, seriously?
hope things don't turn out anywhere near as bad as you've predicted, have a lil faith that things will work out in the end
I wish you well.
I mean, if a retard tries to give it's baby a back rub with a hedge-cutter, it could very likely win the case of "dead baby caused by faulty instructions" due to it didn't say in the manual that giving your baby a back rub wasn't allowed.
I really think there should be a "common sense" law, if a case is that retarded, the one suing have to pay the cost of the trial, even if it wins. And any lawyer it has will need to pay 50 % of the cost if they loose. That'd severely reduce the amount of stupid trials at least.
But the problem is that we have a good chunk (60-70%) of lawyers and/or judges that will try to rule or motion in whatever direction they're being bribed the most for or whatever direction will be the most favorable for their reputation and/or pocketbook.
But yeah, it's annoying that there is a system that works, and favors in that direction.
