Yeah just some questions for if anyone who may know the answers
How good is phantasy star portable or should I just stick with trying to get the second one?

You have to use a PS3 to go online with the first one, though if that's not a issue for you I don't see the harm in playing it since you can transfer your character to two. (though I think you're reverted back to level 1 with no gear, but don't quote me on this.)
