Try using marker as a base for the coloured pencils. It makes your colours richer and deeper.

yep thats what i plan since im better with colored pencils anyway. any tips you got for markers would be great.
like how you keep your base so smooth my markers always layer and look odd

Well, the trick is to work in small circles, making sure to fill the entire space evenly by not leaving a single coloured edge to dry. You have to be constantly on it to make sure there isn't a difference in hue.

so fill it with its true color, that's very helpful cause i just used lines and ya the color wasn't even

Make sure that right when your marker makes a splotch, everything around it gets coloured immediately. The trick is to be quick. If you let a single bit dry before you come back to it, there will be a line where the hue is different from the rest.
